Recently I've been looking at a certain type of product, spot treatments. At the start of this year my skin went downhill, I have red little bumps on my cheeks by my nose, spots regularly welcome themselves to my chin and marks take months to get rid of, sometimes they just stay as scars. Joy.
So when I first decided to do something about it (instead of moping every time I saw my bare face) I decided to pick up La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] as everyone and their mum was trying it and loving it, I only remember seeing one bad review on it. I used it for a couple of months and it seemed to be getting rid of my marks, very slowly but surely, and sometimes prevented spots breaking through if I caught them fast enough. But my main issue was my red spots on my cheeks, and I'm not completely sure this is the case, but I felt like sometimes it was making them worse by irritating them, and making them more raised and obvious, making them harder to hide under concealer.
So, that's when I picked up Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel. I picked it up just over 2 weeks ago and I already friggin love the stuff! It can be used as a mask that you apply twice a day after cleansing or in a more precise way by applying a tiny amount directly on to the problem area. I prefer to use it by applying it directly to my dark marks, upcoming spots and my red spotty areas. The reason I don't use it as a mask is because it can be a bit drying, but in small areas and oily patches, I really don't care, as it gets the job done! So far my marks have reduced so much, my red bumpy patches have calmed down and some days look pretty damn good, and after a good moisturiser, the dry patches are gone.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo [+] £15.50
Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel £14 for 15ml, £20 for 30ml
