Concealers | The Good, The Meh & The Rubbish!

As a girl with plenty of blemishes and major dark circles, concealer is a product that is never missed out in my daily make up routine. I've tried a fair few since first knowing how to use them. I've tried all types of brands, packaging, formulas.. the lot! Not all have been good, there has definitely been some dodgy ones thrown into the mix, but on the other hands, some have been my staple concealers that have been repurchased time and time again.
I'll start with the bad to end on a high note..

The Rubbish
Benefit Fake Up I bought this as an  under eye concealer as it has a moisturising barrier around the actual concealer, nice idea, but it didn't really work. I tried applying it to my skin straight from the packaging, I tried using my fingers and a brush, but none of those made a difference. It's just no good as a concealer for either under the eyes or on blemishes as it's so sheer. It doesn't really sit for long either, it fell straight into my creases.
Collection Illuminating Touch I thought this would be a really good concealer as it's by Collection, and it's pink toned so I thought it'd help to cover my dark circles. But this just didn't work for me, it's quite thick but disappeared through the day?

The Meh
L'Oreal Lumi Magique This is a really good highlighting product and very brightening, but isn't so nice under the eyes.
Soap & Glory Trick and Treatment Again, a really good highlighting product, and it's good under the eyes when paired with another high coverage concealer, but not so much on it's own.
Maybelline Fit Me I actually really love this concealer and use it most days. It's nice and light and I mostly use it with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer to balance the tone out, but isn't much for covering blemishes on it's own and isn't bright enough for under my eyes.

The Good
Collection Lasting Perfection The concealer everybody owns. The concealer to cover any blemish. The concealer the costs the least! I just love it.
Benefit Erase Paste I didn't like this one so much when I first used it, but trying it out a few ways I've now found that using a tiny bit, warmed between my two ring fingers then lightly dabbed under my eyes makes a great dark circle cover up.

    1. I know, the idea of it is amazing! but the moisturising bar just cancelled out the concealer really. No problem :) xxx

  2. Considering Benefit Erase Paste is so brilliant, it's such a surprise that fake up is so rubbish! Same with the collection lasting perfection and the illuminating touch! Surley both brands would be pros at making great concealers...

  3. The collection concealer is definitely one of the best drugstore ones out there, but it's such a disappointment that the illuminating one didn't work as well!

  6. I just bought the collection concealer whilst on holiday in the uk. After I used it I went and bought another one! I can see why everyone likes it so much! Great informative post!
